The fact that the Ontario government is considering building another 400 series highway at this time, is not only a gross misuse of our taxpayer funds, but will be cutting through protected Greenbelt lands. We have a massively underused highway in the form of the 407, which could be used for trucks to travel on, free up the congestion on the 401 and increase safety at the same time. One idea is for the Ontario government subsidize the cost of that to independent truckers and trucking companies. This would cost much less than the billions Highway "413"? will cost us - financially and environmentally.

I wonder why this idea is not being considered by the Ford government. Possibly because shareholders and investors won't make money on it?

Call me skeptical of this disastrous government.
