Although I welcome Greenbelt expansion, I am very weary about trusting this government with anything to do with the environment which it consistently views as ‘red tape’. Saying you want to expand the Greenbelt while also destroying it makes no sense. If you are serious about protecting the environment, please:
– cancel the destruction of the Duffins Creek Wetland
– restore the power of Conservation Authorities
– cancel Hwy 413 that paves over 400 acres of Greenbelt and 2000 acres of farmland
– bring back proper environmental assessments
– restore municipal regulation of below water table aggregate extraction
I am so disappointed with this government’s lack of respect for the environment and sneaky nature of communications to create confusion.
