I would like to have the agency consider protecting the Doris McCarthy Trail and the Sylvan Trail and park. The property owners abutting the Doris McCarthy Trail are removing trees from their land and this could potentially adversely affect erosion and the beauty of the area. Mature trees are required here, not just saplings that are often used as an excuse that it is ok to remove the tree canopy. Urban Forestry seems to just rubber stamp any request to remove trees in our area especially for new, large, unecological house builds. We need your help to protect this special area that is home to over 50 birds, local and migratory, foxes, coyotes, deer, raccoons, opossums, red squirrels, and chipmunks. We also have an issue with dog strangling weed, pampas grass and the invasive vines. This is wonderful walk to the lake. Time is of the essence. Thank you for taking a look at this treasure in our Bluffs neighbourhood and considering it for an extension of the Green Belt.
