I am in firm disagreement with these proposed changes as they represent a grasp for power that vastly oversteps what our provincial government should be allowed to do. Regarding the environment, I am most concerned that such legislation, if passed, would be used to supercede concerns for human and environmental rights in the name of development and economic prosperity.

This land bears vital environmental features such as wetlands and belongs to Indigenous peoples, who were here long before colonial government. Thus I disagree with the legislation that would allow Ministers to independently determine the use of this land. Government should instead work with environmental agencies and Indigenous land protectors to create or amend policies protecting the environment for current and future generations.
