Protect the river waters in the Greenbelt from excessive Growth and accompanying sewage-effluent and urban drainage. Hands off the Headwaters. Stop the influence of aggressive speculators and developers. The Coalition for the West Credit River is comprised of the Belfountain Community Organization, the Credit Headwaters Alliance, the Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club, Ontario River Alliance, Ontario Streams, and the Greg Clark Chapter of Trout Unlimited. The Coalition is working to protect the West Credit River from the Town of Erin’s excessive urban Growth. The WCR will be the direct receiver of all household and industrial sewage-effluent, plus road and roof urban drainage. The environmental damage will be permanent and cost Ontario a rare pristine cold-water native brook trout fishery in this treasured Caledon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. For decades the WCR has given us so much in the form of recreation and respite, it is time now to protect it for future generations.
