I support the largest possible expansion of the Greenbelt. It is a critical area for so many things, including drinking water and animal habitat. In order to combat biodiversity loss, ecological corridors must be enhanced and new ones created. Habitat restoration should be undertaken, particularly in areas with native plant species.
The Greenbelt must be protected from development, whether housing, agriculture, or industrial uses.
I don't live close to the Greenbelt and only visit infrequently, but I value the awareness of it. Expanding the Greenbelt would enhance protection for so many organisms. Without sufficient land to protect our ecosystems, human use of the environment will also be at risk.
