I like the new proposals for the Conservation Authorities Act. I think this emphasis is for the CA’s to manage their own property or properties that they have MOU’s in place to manage. As 88% of the property in Ontario is publicly owned the CA’s will have lots of property to manage. They don’t need to regulate the other 12% of private property as well.
The major problems that arose in the past were that the CA’s were trying to interfere with privately owned property. A property owner usually can manage their own property much better than some govt body that has no vested interest in that property.
