I am against the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry's proposal ERO 019-3465, specifically the proposal to phase-out the import, possession, transport, propagation, buying selling, leasing, or trading of live Eurasian wild boar and their hybrids.
As per ERO 019-3468, there is no firm evidence to suggest that wild pigs are established in Ontario, and therefore responsibly farmed wild boar do not create a threat to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
I'm asking you to help us ensure that our supply of Ontario raised wild boar does not get phased out by the government of Ontario.
Working with Ontario producers of wild boar to find an acceptable path to regulation or oversight changes would ensure that local producers do not lose their livelihood, but also protects Ontario from potential future damages from wild pig populations.
