For some time I have been concerned about the former government's proliferation of acts and regulations and for failing to notify us citizens of them; so we have been liable for failing to obey the law. I suspect that in many cases the new legislation duplicated what was already in existence.
The Endangered Species Act made it a crime to "possess" any of some 200 species; yet the promulgation of the act and regulations was less than prominent. The same is true of Conservation Authority regulations, some of which are "interpreted" by CAs on the spot. I recommend that CA regulations be announced in a way that publishes them clearly. Not all of us have computers.
This request would be furthered by reviewing all McGuinty/Wynne acts and regulations to eliminate any duplication or overlap of existing regulations and reduce the number oif laws.
