Stop expanding the wood…

Stop expanding the wood pellet industry – this will only worsen our climate emergency!

We know that whole trees in primary boreal forest are being turned into wood pellets, not just scrap wood. Increasing deforestation is not a climate solution. We need our forests intact to fight climate change and support biodiversity.

Burning wood is also not a clean energy alternative.

Lastly, if we are working towards greening our economy it makes no sense to expand this industry. Even if we are providing jobs to fossil fuel works hoping to transition out of a dirty industry, these proposed jobs are in an industry that dumps more carbon into the atmosphere than what it's replacing.
