I fully support scrapping…

I fully support scrapping cap and trade. It is a fiddle that misuses people's genuine concern for the environment to create a market for ground floor investors only. That is, it is a government backed ponzi scheme. Real environmental action requires reducing or getting rid of subsidies, because subsidies add an economic burden to the environment. Subsidies are paid for by increased taxes, which require increased emission of greenhouse gasses to pay for the added economic burden. Saying something is environmental does not make it so, neither does hand wringing or complaining. Real environmental benefit would come from encouraging wood heat in rural communities, because wood is a local product,and fully renewable. So please, get rid of wasteful greenwashing exercises such as cap and trade, and solar and wind farms that ruin prime agricultural land. I am an ecologist, and teach sustainable agriculture. I think that the destruction of agricultural land that arises from cap and trade and solar and wind farms in Ontario is an immoral waste, and a dereliction of our duty to leave the environment better than we found it for the next generation.
