This is a terrible piece of legislation and the government is failing in its responsibilities to address climate change through this action.
Putting a price on carbon has proven to be the most effective way of reducing green house gas emissions. It is also widely supported by business and industry. This Bill offers no viable replacement and creates uncertainty for businesses and industries.
This Bill will incur costs to the tax payers and businesses that are unnecessary and counter productive. In a time where we need political leadership to address an enormous challenge, this is a regressive step that sets Ontario back many years.
