While I understand our governments insistence on trying to save people money, I feel that using the environmental protections such as this as a way to do so is going to do more harm to the province than it will good. With the Cap and Trade program, we were able to fund much needed school repairs and renovations, provide rebates for various home improvement items, such as windows and heating systems, and provide rebates for everyone to purchase an electric or hybrid vehicle, which would go a huge step towards us cutting our pollution. The last one is a really large one, since while an electric vehicle (EV) may have a little higher footprint pollution wise during manufacturing, with a power grid like ours, where only 4% of our power throughout the year produces pollution (Gas), the yearly carbon footprint for an EV is actually less than the average person breathing all year long.

This is a program that should be continued, and the various off shoots that it funded be reinstated.
