The broad comment I have about the projection methodology is the length of time it should extend into the future. Other changes to planning projections for the GGHA have extended the window in which projections are to be made. Any updates to the planning projection window should be limited. Projects are by their nature uncertain, but can be updated. Municipalities zoning land based on distant projections can have significant consequences for the municipalities, especially when the projections do not come to fruition. It can be hard to impossible for decisions to be undone. Therefore, any projection methodology, no matter how robust, should be moderated, and make projections for no more that 5-10 years into the future. Municipal plans can be updated based on changing projections, as new information becomes available, rather than making decisions that are consequential, but not in the public good or undermine good planning.
