I strongly oppose Bill 4, the Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018. This is for many reasons. First and foremost is that climate change presents a huge economic and social risk to Canada and many other nations, and we in Ontario must do our part.

Second is the regulatory uncertainty produced by cancelling a system that has been working well, especially in the context of a national move towards such systems. Such regulatory uncertainty will undermine business investment and productivity, and impede Ontario's ability to carve out a position for itself (hopefully a leadership position) in the clean economy of the future.
