I really think that it is a mistake to cancel the cap and trade program. We need some form of GHG program. If we don't, the federal government will give is a carbon tax. The cap and trade program is smart and it is proven to work. It taxes the polluters. Yes, Ontarians will notice small increases on some bills but this is way better than a carbon tax. Getting rid of this program is costing Ontario money. Several organizations have already taken Ontario to court. Please be smart about this. Cap and trade is a good program. It encourages business to be clean so that they can make money selling their credits. This encourages more business in Ontario. If there is a smarter carbon program, then that's great but right now, this is the best we have.
