I am very angry to see the new Ontario government backing away from cap and trade which was surely the mildest action possible anyway, in light of the climate catastrophes we are facing. Nobody in Ontario would have to starve or go without medical care to accomplish this. The current economy is not what matters. What matters is the coming millennium during which our own descendants will be paying for our fossil fuel extravagances. I was not happy with some actions (and inactions) of the Liberal party but by God, they DID something to acknowledge and deal with climate change. From the gas plant "scandal" to the end of subsidies for wind farms and electric cars, your party has done nothing but resist and try to shame the very decent efforts that the previous government made to act like adults about the issue. For that I was relieved and grateful. If I have to get old and die thinking about the disaster we are leaving the great-grand kids then I can't even look forward to a peaceful death. The stand that the PC party has taken on climate change leaves me wondering who among you are investors in the fossil fuel industry. Only the very self interested could act so selfishly in the face of looming global disaster. sincerely, Maria Kasstan
