What I hear often is that a carbon price is both too expensive for people to afford and also too inexpensive to change behaviour. Logically, these can't both be true. Therefore it may be too expensive, in which case I am pleased because it changes behaviour dramatically, or it is not expensive enough, in which case I am pleased because people who do not change their behaviour are paying some of my taxes for me. In either case I am pleased with a carbon tax and will vote accordingly.
