Minister Clark,
I oppose the action outlined in your letter to negate/stall the decision of our Hamilton City Council to freeze the urban boundary and move forward on plans to increase housing utilizing available land within the city. This was a decision by our municipal government, made democratically with a high degree of support. It would appear that your government does not honour the democratic process with the result that our farmland, wet lands etc. are at great risk of being destroyed. We know without a doubt that once these areas are lost, there is no going back to undo the damage. The land is not neutral. The land gives to us in many ways if we respect and care for it. Urban sprawl, building of unnecessary highways is not respecting the land & will ultimately be detrimental to all of us. Your government will be responsible for the harm.
