I'm a resident of Ontario.
This proposal will have a detrimental impact on natural green spaces in the province.
The aim for high density housing with expedited approval will overlook the health of our ecosystem and will cost significantly more money to strengthening the provinces flood mitigation strategy.
This amendment is removing the democratic process by allowing "authority" to over-ride any permit conditions. The environment is more costly than a permit fee and conditions which protect the environment. Additionally homes with increased risk of natural disasters will likely cost less on the market, cost more to insure and will attract individuals with low income. This proposal was written by a consultant that is trying to sell something and has no mention of the adverse side effects.
