Probably your best bet is placing charging facilities where people travel between cities. Within the GTA there are plenty of options, but outside of the city, and on main highways, opportunities for charging EV’s for road trips are severely limited. This represents a lost opportunity for local tourism and for potential EV buyers outside of major centres. Most recreational trips involve longer distance driving, which for EV’s means frequent charging. Add more chargers at Enroute sites, truck stops, rural centres, provincial parks, tourist destinations, and please start to consider the orientation of the chargers. No one wants to unhitch a travel trailer just to charge the tow vehicle.
You won’t have EV uptake without sufficient charging infrastructure.
Good luck with your political bosses. I don’t envy you selling sustainability to them.
