First of all, it's a sad day when a new government is obliged to post the notice of change in legislation after being told to do so in a lawsuit. It is even sadder in the current context that the "cap and trade" program is planned to be eliminated contrary to the current laws (Bill of rights) and that there is no replacement legislation. One has to ask "why" given a plethora of evidence and testimony of scientists around the world that climate change is real and is happening. Further only government action can begin to mitigate the issues that we face.
Supposedly, the cap and trade program is alledged to be a "tax" when the reality is that it is revenue neutral. How to stop polluters? How to abate climate change? And really, we'll all face the costs and consequences greater than our experience in the past ten years.
The abdication of responsibility to respond to climate change now is a disservice to ourselves, our children and their children.
