I am a lifelong resident of Ontario. Despite offers to leave the province I have decided to stay and raise my daughter here. My favourite part of this province is the unique greenspace and beautiful environment we act as stewards for. We have developed an international reputation as having among the most beautiful countries to live in in the world. I am extremely disappointed and upset to see this plan to pave over existing Greenbelt to make room for more houses. While I understand this plan is a response to the need for housing and anticipated growth I do not believe this is the solution. Let us reconsider how we live, building up rather than out, and expressing to the federal government that we must continue to work on creative solutions to housing before opening the doors to 500,000 new Canadians per year while we struggle to meet the demands of our existing population. We owe it to this planet, the wildlife and the nature we enjoy. Thank you for considering this perspective.
