It's obvious that as Canadians, we aren't doing a very good job at reducing our emissions. When people think of Canada, they think about large bodies of water, evergreen trees and wildlife... all of which is at risk if we continue to pollute the way we have been.

I think the Cap and Trade model was a good start; this gave an incentive to cut emissions and for better communication between Quebec and California. Cap and Trade isn't a perfect, end-all solution to the problem, but if it's shut down by Ford government now, then it doesn't get the chance to be monitored and improved upon. It's an absolute waste of time and money to cut the contracts up when we already had the ball rolling towards lowering GHG emissions. It is unfortunate that when one party comes in to power, they tear down what another party has built rather than changing it and trying to make it better.
