When we are experiencing extreme weather events, removing the greenbelt for housing is the worst thing you can do. We need more green areas more than ever. Also, this will endanger the wild animals living in the area. Animals that lost their habitat will lose the boundary with human settlements, which will create further issues in the future.
In the current situation, building new houses doesn't mean affordable housing. Developers, investors and only a few will benefit from it. Losing precious nature for greed is shameful.
