As a young (27 years old) Ontarian, I would like to be excited about the proposals our government has for how they are going to make it easier for me to start a family and own a home. Instead, legislation like this is proposed, which would irreversibly harm our land and wildlife by removing large swaths of the greenbelt, all for the sake of more single family dwellings in the suburbs. I strongly oppose this legislation. There are countless other ways we could increase the density of our cities in order to lower the bar to home ownership that don't involve destroying out natural habitats. I would rather rent forever than see the Greenbelt be infringed upon.
