The Greenbelt is for protection of species of wildlife and plants. It’s a huge contributor to helping with carbon emissions created by nearby infrastructure. Many wetlands contribute to water quality and volumes. Water doesn’t magically appear in your pipes it’s source is aquifers underground. To decimate the Greenbelt is a careless and a forever denial of preservation of nature. We need to grow food closer to the cities not import from Mike’s away. The indigenous know and respect what the value of nature is It’s not for rich speculators building homes which only few can afford. Natural Capital assets are more valuable than a building and are for generations to come future forward thinking instead of in the moment. Once it’s gone it’s forever. Leave a green legacy
