What is the point of building housing when there's not even utilities that go with it? Schools? Libraries? Public Transit? Retail spaces? It seems nonsensical to destroy the greenbelt for housing. The province is becoming less and less ecological, green, and healthy over the years and this just further reduces the health of the environment around us. The potential habitat loss would be monumental for all animals alike. Water sources would be modified/destroyed, there would be way less food sources and shelter for the animals, the presence of people themselves would have a negative effect on the animals and environment. Noise pollution, light pollution, air pollution, literal pollution, all these things would just further decimate our main key green zone of our home. Don't touch the green belt, its not worth it.
