The plan to develop land in the greenbelt, after the Tory government previously said they would not do this, is an outrage. I live in Hamilton near these proposed development areas, and what Hamilton needs is not more houses but continued protection of green spaces. To imagine allowing this development to continue amid the growing climate crisis is a huge disservice to future generations. We love living near the greenbelt for all the green space an opportunities to be out of n nature. Hamilton does not need more townhouses and condos that all look the same and only add to the concrete footprint of the city and province. The government's plan to develop the greenbelt is clearly just intended to enrich developers and their investors, many of whom will no doubt be members of the Ford government. Adding land to the greenbelt in Paris to deter from taking it away in Hamilton is an insult to those of us who live in Hamilton.
