Aside from the obvious environmental impact that paving over Greenbelt protected land poses, such as the destruction of wetlands, floodplains, and drinking water quality and quantity reduction, this also poses other concerns. Such a highway and the urban sprawl it promotes will further congest our major cities, causing more air pollution as the increased traffic degrades our air quality. This bill is this bill is a blatant irresponsible use of taxpayer money with long lasting environmental impacts, from the degradation of our beautiful environment to the further pollution of our cities.
