the point of the greenbelt is that it is a space that is *permanently* safe from development. this plan completely undermines that principle.
While the area you plan to add is lovely - great idea- add it- you have to keep the existing area closed to development.
Imagine how many developers are going to be knocking on the door to build around Milton area- as one example- .
This is a "thin edge of the wedge" situation where your government needs to maintain the promise - an election promise- to keep the greenbelt.
It is a permanent land trust. If it is permanent, what is to stop you from trading land around Timmons for land in the GTHA?
Permanent means permanent.
I vote every time- this is a key issue- it shows competence, potential corruption or collusion with developers and basically trustworthiness.
