This government made a promise to protect the Greenbelt. The voters of Hamilton elected a municipal government who sought to protest the Greenbelt. This government has a moral obligation to follow the will of the electorate and carry out their promises made during elections.
Even if the problem with house prices was lack of space (As opposed to companies buying houses on mass to rent), the government has a moral duty to honour a promise made during the election, and not change their platform after getting a mandate.
