First of all you promised not to touch the greenbelt and are going back on that. Second of all, this plan will do nothing to provide affordable housing, which is what we actually need for the housing crisis. You cannot use the housing crisis as an excuse to finally develop environmentally protected land, it is protect for a reason. Third of all, the environmental impacts; This land was protected in the first place because of the eroding and flooding that occurred as a result of over-development of land without considering the consequences. Further development will erode important ecosystem services, leading to increases in flooding and erosion, as I just mentioned. This plan is not informed by science, not supported by environmental OR housing experts, and on top of that every day this government works to weaken the powers of the conservation authorities which further proves that you don't care about evidence based decision making.
