I am writing to indicate my disagreement with the proposed changes. The cap and trade program has been shown to provide environmental and financial benefits to citizens of Ontario. The new bill proposes to dismantle the program but does not provide a plan to replace it. In my view, this is irresponsible!
The damage to the environment that has already taken place is severely affecting our climate and with it, our way of life. Strong action to both mitigate the change and to adapt to it is required immediately. Please do not dismantle the existing cap and trade program until you have something better to replace it.
