Do not remove environmental protections and ravage the greenbelt. Ontario is only open for business so long as we protect our agricultural spaces and ensure wildlife corridors. If we can't be bothered to protect our natural resources from needless development then we will not be open for business for very long. Smarter densities and making use of existing zoned lands for development is important. Why push through legislation that is intended to provide Mayor's the power to override local backlash to needed housing projects, in the name of development within those cities, and then remove protections for green spaces to develop land that does not need to be developed? This is extremely poor planning and will only benefit the very few people who speculatively own land in the greenbelt. Do not change the greenbelt structure or remove protections or land from the Act's protections. Noone thinks this is a good idea except the Governing Party and the developers who stand to benefit.
