Please re-locate the proposed development areas to the near north, away from farmland. Maintain the integrity of our farmland so that we can retain some autonomy in food production. Ensure adequate buffers are provided to protect crops and livestock from light, noise and air pollution. While I understand we need housing, please develop abandoned commercial sites, and re- develop urban areas to optimize density. Keeping current urban boundaries is preferred in the GTA, mid and southern Ontario. We need to protect and keep our farms producing food.
And stop the proposed highway through the Holland Marsh. Just buy out the 407, and let people use that hwy. we do not need more highways.
Look at the populations age distribution. Very soon, the boomers will be dying off leaving large homes vacant. Do the math. Will our aging population make sufficient room for the young people?
