Given the current climate and affordability crises, the last thing we need to be doing is eliminating green space and continuing to allow suburbs to sprawl. Destroying protected green space and farm land is not sustainable growth. We need to densify existing cities, especially near transit. Allow for multi unit developments in single family neighbourhoods, mid rise residential, etc. The dependency on cars everywhere and never ending widening of highways is gross and not only killing the environment, but the people who commute hours a day because they can’t afford to live close to where they work.
