Please do not proceed with this proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan. We cannot afford to
lose any more of Ontario's agricultural lands nor can we afford to destroy any more wildlife habit.
With regards to increased housing, first use available in-filling on lands already designated for development.
I cannot imagine anything more destructive to our Province than to continue building on lands meant
to support our population through agricultural and on lands meant to provide wetlands and other lands for wildlife survival. How are we to feed the increased populations while simultaneously eliminating cultivation lands? What right do we have to erase existing flora and fauna populations for development purposes?
Once it is gone, there is no way to recreate these habitats.
Furthermore, it was promised that the Greenbelt would be beyond the reaches of developers. Now this? There are more creative alternatives to provide the needed housing for Ontarians. Brainstorm.
We CANNOT afford to destroy anymore of Ontario's diminishing arable farmlands.
