I oppose the plan to allow subdivisions to be built on the Greenbelt.

Ontario will be in millions of new immigrants over the next decades. Policies that continue to undermine the environmental foundation of life in the province will lower the quality of life of all Ontarians now and in the future.

Subdivisions are no solution for Ontario's housing crisis - densification is.

The Greenbelt protects Ontario's drinking water, local agricultural land (on some of the country's best quality soil) as well as it's biodiversity.

These are the FOUNDATIONS of life in the province. You cannot eat or drink a subdivision - and today's monster homes and McMansions are tomorrow's food-desert, car-dependent rooming houses.

Doug Ford has already sold his soul to developers. He does not have the right to sell ours.

We are not the only Ontarians to live in this province - our children's future MUST be protected from the short-sighted policies that serve only to line the pockets of developers and politicians.

Please do not allow these changes to go forward. The Greenbelt is a serious piece of public legislation and changes to it deserve more consultation, more debate and more thought that this government is willing or able to provide. Shame on the Conservative government for trying to push this through.
