Developing the Greenbelt is transparently corrupt. The lands proposed for development are owned by wealthy Doug Ford donors and many of the tracts were purchased within the last two years, signalling that this fix has been in the making for some time. It's well known that unaffordable sprawl McMansion luxury homes will not solve the housing crisis. And it strains credibility to believe the Ontario PC government will actually swap the land for other pristine acres. It's already being reported that many of the proposed swap lands are already preserved by other jurisdictions meaning a net loss of green. While I am making the effort to comment, I have zero faith anyone will read or act on any of the submissions unless they affirm the decision Doug Ford has already made, to develop the greenbelt not for solving the housing crisis but to directly benefit himself and his wealthy male donor friends. I'm so disappointed and depressed but not at all surprised.
