The proposed development of parts of the greenbelt are extremely discouraging. Especially after promises from this government not to develop this vulnerable and crucial component of our environment just a few years ago
I recognize that housing is an important issue and that we are facing some significant challenges in providing our growing population with somewhere to live. Having said that, there must be other, more suitable options.
Knowing that much this property was purchased by developers after the creation of the greenbelt in 2005, it is clear they were hoping for the right government to come along that would fall back on its promises; once again focusing on immediate financial gains for a few individuals, rather than seeing long term benefits for all.
