This is such a terrible decision and I don't understand the logic behind it at all. The Ford government doesn't even have a climate plan at this point, so why dismantle a system that's already in place? Oh right, because it was implemented by the Liberals so must be repealed.

Is saving $80 per year on your gas bill really worth it? Yes, reducing carbon emissions and preventing climate change will be expensive. But we cannot afford to fail at it and the longer we wait, the more difficult and expensive it will become. Climate change is already happening. How many ice storms, heat waves, droughts, tornadoes, and forest fires have to happen - right here in Ontario - before we start to take it seriously? How many temperature records have to be broken? All of our futures depend on us getting this right and repealing cap and trade is such a backwards move.

I'm sure these comments won't make any difference, but I really hope the government rethinks this move. They don't want a carbon tax, they don't want cap and trade, so what exactly is their plan? Sure, cap and trade isn't the only solution to climate change, but already Ontario's emissions have dropped a little and it's at least a start. Let's not throw that away.
