Perhaps, rather than destroying the current Greenbelt ecosystems with McMansions and the resulting roadway and commercial infrastructure, the government could look at repurposing and rezoning preexisting unused commercial properties and land in this Golden Horseshoe region to build high-density, low-income housing. The housing problem we as a province are facing is not merely a lack of availability property, but also a lack of affordable housing. Building million-dollar homes in the Greenbelt won't solve either of those problems.
