This is a misuse of provincial funds. We should be focusing on actual crisis that our communities are facing at hand instead of ruining the environment and only providing financial benefit to wealthy folks. Please think of funding affordable housing projects, battling inflation, providing support to our Healthcare system. How you can start to do this is by using offices in Toronto that are empty and making them into affordable housing.
We do not need to build on protected green space. We do not need this. We need the government to value its community and people. This project is not going to benefit Ontarians, it is going to benefit the rich. We are starving and facing high prices of food, gas, bills. This is not acceptable.
How do you expect for people to buy homes? What incentives and supports are you providing? How can you help first home buyers NOW get into the market? Your proposal is to build more homes but yet how can we even afford these homes? Who is going to be able to afford these homes? You are not addressing the real issue at hand. There are MULTIPLE units available for pre-construction now, homes and condos. But we can't even afford to get into the market now.... How is building more homes going to help? A home in markham goes for 1.2 mil, and that's for a townhouse.
