This amendment to legislation does not help the people of Ontario. What we need are houses that people can afford not mansions on one of our most ecologically vulnerable areas. We need high density housing IN CITIES for workers. It is disgraceful so many people can’t afford to live in the city they work. Mansions here aren’t for the people of Ontario it’s to put MORE money in developers pocket which we will never see recirculate back into the local economy. Why not incentivize all the commercial landlords to change their empty units in Toronto into high density housing? Why not implement rent control? Things that would actually address the issue?

This government and our premier made a promise to maintain the green belt. Farmers need this land to put food in our mouths. They work so hard for it to be developed. You already stuck a highway where it doesn’t belong. Do something actually useful for the people. Help out farmers, our workers, YOUR CITIZENS! I do not support this amendment or these proposals. It’s bad idea fiscally, it’s irresponsible and short sighted and damaging to our agricultural and wetlands. You can’t eat mansions or drink oil when you’ve paved over the waterways and destroyed the farm land.
