As a proud, long-time OPC voter, I am hugely disappointing that the Ford government even considers this an option. We were promised that the Greenbelt would not be developed at all. We were promised that this government would make fiscally responsible decisions, and we all know that building in floodplains, increasing sprawl that requires infrastructure and servicing, and reducing our ability to feed our province with local farms will all cost significantly more for taxpayers and Ontario families in the long term.
How incredibly short sighted. This is not the plan I voted for. I do not want this. I can guarantee that the Conservative government will lose my loyal support, and the support of my friends and family if this goes through. I will not stop fighting this and communicating how untrustworthy and disappointing the Ford government is until Bill 23 is thrown in the garbage where it belongs. You are denying all Ontarians the choice they made, for their province to grow in a dense, economical way. This is a bipartisan issue, with all voters saying they DO NOT WANT this bill to pass. Listen to your supporters. Listen to the people you represent. How shameful and how unfortunate for the people of Ontario that the Premier we elected cares more about developers and land speculators than he does for the future of this province and all the people who put their trust in him.
