It's genuinely horrifying to think that we can pave over the greenbelt and not change the landscape and everyone's lives forever. There are important aspects of the environment we will forever be losing. Adding a parcel of land three hours West of Markham doesn't justify the land you will be converting here. It's not a one to one swap when it comes to the environment. This is so short -sighted, let alone the environmental impact (which will be detrimental), what about the urban impact? Traffic? Infrastructure? Education systems? I seriously urge you to reconsider other alternatives to address the growing population question.
