The development of the green belt will not help the greater good of the Ontario population. The green belt provides many great things for Ontario. It’s part of our identity, provides outdoor activities for all and is extremely important to the climate crisis. There are plenty of spaces for development in higher population areas as well as developed areas for business that are completely unoccupied due to the changes of how we work post pandemic. Taking away the green belt would take away Ontario's identity and have only a soul focus on Ontario as a working concrete province. I think it’s idiotic to take over the one place we have protected to make a short term profit, that will later result in further problems to our citizens. Please reconsider this decision. As a non homeowner, I feel that I would rather have the greenbelt persist and have to wait many years before purchasing, rather than destroying it.
