I am strongly opposed to…

I am strongly opposed to Bill 4, Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018. without new legislation to deal adequately with climate change. We need to do the following:
1. Make polluters pay for their pollution including the production of greenhouse gases. The only realistic methods of reducing greenhouse gas emissions is to place a tax on carbon, a cap and trade system, and by regulation. At this late date all three should be considered.
2. We must have a plan that enables Ontario (and Canada) to meet its commitments under the Paris Climate Agreement.
3. We need to have 100% renewable energy by 2050 preferably earlier.
4. We need to end all subsidies to the fossil fuel industry quickly.
