Expanding the urban boundary of Hamilton goes against what Hamiltonians explicitly voted for.
There is plenty of reserved land (20-year reserve) already approved and available without touching the green belt. Build up, not out. It's the most fiscally responsible thing to do. The tax burden for urban units is about half that of suburban dwellings.
There is no rational explanation for what the "leadership" is doing. It goes against democracy, food security, and necessary environmental protections.
It also shows a complete lack of integrity to go back on the promise (made not even 6 months ago) to not touch the greenbelt.
